Until now in order to use Google Maps navigation on a Wear OS watch, it had to be always tethered to the device. But yesterday simultaneously with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Watch5 and Watch5 Pro, the Google Maps offline navigation feature was announced.
Watch5 and Watch5 Pro users no longer need to carry the phone to use navigation in the form of voice control and vibration on the hand. At the same time Google confirmed that the Google Maps offline navigation feature will be supported on other Wear OS smartwatches by the end of 2022 with it being given to Samsung devices first.
