During Samsung's device launch event yesterday, they also announced a new update for Wear OS as it is the operating system used on their Galaxy Watch smartwatches.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch5 and Galaxy Watch5 Pro run the One UI 4.5 operating system built on Wear OS 3.5. It is a new version specifically for Samsung watches only. The new Wear OS will bring Google Maps offline navigation support, support for SoundCloud and Deezer apps, new watch faces and more.
Although many Wear OS watches are yet to receive the Wear OS 3 update, Google will also bring some of the new features of Wear OS 3.5 to other Wear OS watches around the end of next year. The SoundCloud and Deezer apps will temporarily be exclusive to Samsung watches and other watches will also receive them even if they don't run Wear OS 3.5.
