The WiFi 6E network protocol was only introduced a few years ago and now plans to introduce WiFi 7 (802.11be) have already begun with it expected to be launched from 2023. Now Intel has confirmed they will support WiFi 7 on laptops from 2024 before expanding to devices another.
WiFi 7 supports data transfer speeds of up to 36 Gbps at 6GHz frequency. WiFi 7 support will allow next generation devices to enjoy faster internet speeds than WiFi 6E which reaches 5.8 Gbps.
In addition to Intel, MediaTek and Qualcomm are two other companies that have released products supporting WiFi 7 this year.
