The problem of hacking and data leakage has become more serious lately with user card data believed to have been stolen after iPay88 was hacked yesterday. At the beginning of the year, the personal data of 22.5 million Malaysian users from the NRD database was sold on the dark web market. For this reason K-KOMM Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa said his ministry will introduce an anti-hacking application to counter the increasingly serious problem.
Meetings will be held with application owners abroad in the near future. The name of the application and the company that developed it was not shared by him at this time. He has also instructed Cyber Security Malaysia (CSM) to analyze the application first before launching it to Malaysians.
He added that this application can be used on all types of devices registered in Malaysia. Fees will apply but K-KOMM will ensure that the price is reasonable for all.
