The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (Kominfo) has confirmed that PayPal, Steam, Counter Strike GO, Yahoo and Dota search engines have been normalized or unblocked. Only Epic Games and Origin.com are still being cut off.
"PayPal, Steam, CS GO, Dota, and Yahoo have normalized/opened access," said the Director General of Information Applications (Dirjen Aptika) of the Ministry of Communications and Informatics, Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan, Tuesday (2/8/2022).
Semuel explained that PayPal has been open since Sunday (31/7) at 08.00 WIB. Then, Steam, Counter Strike GO, and Dota which are both made by Valve Corp. have been normalized since 08.30 WIB today, Tuesday (2/8).
Likewise with Yahoo, normalization has been carried out at the same time and day as Steam, Counter Strike GO, and Dota.
"Thus, the public can access the three PSE groups mentioned above," said Semuel.
Meanwhile, Epic Games and Origin.com are still absent or have not been unblocked by Kominfo.
For information, the Electronic System Operators (PSE) did not register as Private Scope PSEs according to the time limit set by Kominfo. There are 7 Private Scope PSEs that have been blocked by the Indonesian government since 30 July 2022 as a sanction for them not being registered.
This Private Scope PSE registration has been mandated by Government Regulation Number 71 of 2019 concerning Electronic System and Transaction Operators, as well as Minister of Communication and Informatics Regulation Number 5 of 2020 concerning Private Scope Electronic System Operators (PSE).
Through this PSE rule, companies that operate digitally, such as having a website or application, operate in the territory of Indonesia. This registration obligation is addressed to both foreign and local companies.
