RACE is Malaysia's First Ground Self-Guided Agricultural Drone

Meraque Services Sdn Bhd launched Malaysia's first self-driving land agriculture drone named RACE (Robotic Agro in Complex Environment). It is designed to perform fertilization and spraying tasks in oil palm plantations without the help of human workers.

The first RACE launched during the Malaysian International Agricommodity Expo & Summit (MIACES) at the Malaysian International Trade and Exhibition Center (MITEC) Kuala Lumpur has a capacity of 150 litres. This smaller version is designed specifically for spraying tasks. Another RACE model with a capacity of 500 liters can do spraying and fertilizing at the same time.

This self-guided ground drone was built specifically to meet the needs of local oil palm plantations, solve the problem of labor shortages, stabilize crop production and the ever-increasing costs.

RACE is not Malaysia's first agricultural drone because previously flying drones for the purpose of monitoring and spraying poison were introduced by FELCRA in 2019.
