Aside from their devices and hardware, Samsung is also known for developing high-quality computer storage components, including hard drives and SSDs.
Recently, the PCI-SIG SSD storage group has confirmed that the company's latest SSD component, the Samsung 990 Pro M.2 is confirmed to use the latest PCIe 5.0 data transmission technology with a data reading rate as fast as 13GB/s.
Information about the storage has been included in the PCI-SIG database recently and Samsung is expected to offer the storage in at least 1TB and 2TB options.
For now, it is seen that this PCIe 5.0 storage is supported by the Intel Alder Lake platform through their Intel Z690 motherboard and soon, AMD through the soon to be launched AMD AM5 platform.
