YouTube Tests In-Video Zoom Feature For Premium Customers

More and more people watch YouTube videos on smartphones. From personal experience the usage on smartphones is less satisfactory because the screen is so small that sometimes the objects in the video cannot be seen clearly. YouTube today began testing allowing users to zoom into videos to enlarge them.

Gestures that have been used to enlarge photos in the gallery can now be used to enlarge videos in YouTube. Currently this feature is only accessible to Premium customers using the Android app.

It needs to be activated by pressing the account icon then going to the Your Premium benefits tab. Next go to Try new features. The feature can be tested until September 1 with Google collecting feedback from users.
