Android users no longer need to be jealous of iPhone users regarding fast and easy file sharing technology. Nearby Share is Google's answer to Apple's AirDrop.
But, there is still no feature to transfer files between Android to iPhone as fast as Nearby Share or AirDrop. Recently, Google will introduce Self Share for users to share files between two different devices with the same account.
This feature will not ask for user confirmation to receive files if the device is the same account as the sending device. In addition, users can also easily share between phones and tablets. This sharing feature is to make it easier for a user to share files to a second device with the same account without requiring any authentication.
Not sure yet, when this feature will be distributed. But it is likely that Google will introduce this feature to Chrome OS users first before tablet and phone users receive it.
