After introducing new names for the Snapdragon 8 and Snapdragon 7 families, today Qualcomm also introduced new chipsets under the Snapdragon 6 and Snapdragon 4 families.
The first is the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, which is a mid-spec chipset built on a 4nm build.
Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 offers a speed of up to 2.2Ghz with an eight-core build, as well as offering 35% better graphics performance than before. It also supports cameras up to 200MP, WiFi 6E connection, and 5G.
Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 is a basic specification chipset with a 6nm build. It comes with eight-core support, as well as a speed of 2.0Ghz. Compared to the previous generation, Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 offers 15% better CPU performance, in addition to 10% better GPU.
The phone using the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chip is expected to be available in a few weeks, while the phone using the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chip is expected to be available in early 2023.
