The iPhone 14 Sold in China Does Not Support the Emergency SOS Feature Using Satellite

Among the dancing features announced early this morning on the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro series is support for sending emergency SOS messages using satellites. With this feature iPhone 14 users can send an emergency short message to get emergency help when there is no cellular or WiFi network support.

To make this feature a reality, Apple partnered with Globalstar and users can also make sure they can be found using the Find My feature when lost. At this time this feature will be accepted by users in the United States and Canada starting November later with it being offered free for two years.

However Apple confirmed that devices purchased from China Hong Kong, and Macau will not support this emergency SOS feature. It is highly likely that this service will use a different satellite system. The Huawei Mate 50 launched this week also has the same features but uses Beidou 3 satellites.
