The use of face masks is now not mandatory in closed areas

Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin has today announced that the wearing of face masks is not mandatory for closed areas starting immediately.

Even so, he also said that wearing it is still mandatory for health facilities such as hospitals and clinics, in public transport and if you are found to have positive symptoms of COVID-19.

According to the statement issued again, the government also still encourages the use of face masks in locations such as stadiums, shopping malls, houses of worship and for those at high risk such as the elderly and those with chronic diseases.

This announcement was made in view of the decreasing and stable number of positive cases of COVID-19, but with this relaxation, the public is also advised to ensure that the health of themselves and their families needs to be taken care of so that we do not show an increasing number of cases of the outbreak of COVID-19.
