Spatial Audio is an immersive 3D audio experience offered by Apple through their audio products such as AirPods Pro or AirPods Max. This feature also supports Dolby Atmos and can only be enjoyed through their music streaming platform, Apple Music and on select devices only such as Apple's own products.
Recently, spatial audio support has been expanded to inforia as well. More interesting is that it is not an Apple product and was first offered to Mercedes MBUX inforia and is limited to Mercedes cars only, namely Mercedes‑Maybach S‑Class, EQS, EQS SUV, EQE, EQE SUV, or S‑Class. This feature is offered because the inforia MBUX supports Dolby Atmos immersive audio through Burmester 4D or 3D which is only worth reaching over RM70,000 in Malaysia if you want to add this audio system to the optional Mercedes car.
For the Burmester 4D, it has 31 speakers including 6 3D speakers above and 4 speakers close to the ears in the front seat as well as an 18.5 liter subwoofer. It also has 8 audio transducers (2 on each seat), 2 amplifiers and has a power of 1750W.
That's not all, for Mercedes owners who don't subscribe to Apple Music – Mercedes has partnered with Universal Music Group to present music recognized with the Approved in a Mercedes-Benz label. This label can only be given to artists based on sound mixing at the final stage only.
