Apple Wants to Change the Activation Word for the Virtual Assistant From "Hey Siri" to Just "Siri"

Apple today offers its own virtual assistant, called Siri - which operates based on voice commands. To activate it today, users need to say “Hey Siri” followed by the next command.

This seems to be a time-consuming process, and now Apple is reportedly considering reducing it to just saying "Siri" and following instructions.

These changes are expected to involve various learning and training processes for artificial intelligence. Apple has started its development process, and aims to introduce it around next year or in 2024.

One of the challenges that is also expected to be overcome is pronunciation in various different dialects by users around the world.
