After the introduction of Apple Pay during the day in Malaysia, now Google is boosting the non-cash payment industry in Malaysia with the introduction of Google Wallet.
Starting today, Google Wallet has been officially available in the local market. Through it, it makes it easier to make payments, and at the same time allows you to better manage your various digital passes.
For information, Google Wallet can be used with Android devices as well as Google Wear smart watches. In Malaysia, Google Wallet supports CIMB Bank (Mastercard credit card), Hong Leong Bank (Visa credit card and Mastercard debit card), Hong Leong Islamic Bank (Mastercard debit card), and Public Bank (Visa credit and debit card) will be able to add their card to Google Wallet. HSBC (Visa and Mastercard credit cards) and HSBC Amanah (Visa and Mastercard credit cards), will be added soon.
In addition, AirAsia boarding passes will also be able to be added to Google Wallet, including support for Malaysia Airlines boarding passes coming soon.
To use it, you need to install the Google Wallet app, and then add the card to your device. Next, to make a payment at stores that support it, you just need to tap on the payment terminal. You need to make sure NFC support is turned on before you can use this feature.
