The Galaxy Galaxy S23 Series Confirmed Will Only Use Snapdragon Chips

This year the Galaxy S22 series is only offered with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip with the Exynos variant only sold in the European market. Samsung's decision to make this change was praised by users in Malaysia who were convinced that the Exynos chip did not offer performance comparable to the Snapdragon.

When the Galaxy S23 launches next February, all models will only use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip according to Akash Palkhiwala who is the CFO of Qualcomm. In the company's latest financial report, Palkhiwala said Qualcomm's chip share in the S22 series this year is 75% but will increase to 100% starting with the S23 series.

This decision will please users who want a device with a Snapdragon chip. The use of the new Exynos chip is on hold while Samsung returns to the design table after the failure of the Exynos 2200 this year. For the first time Exynos chips will finally be designed specifically for Galaxy devices just like Google and Apple do. This chip is expected to only be used starting in 2025.
