Turkish Drones That Make Russia Distracted from Showing Off in Jakarta

The Bayraktar TB2 is a Turkish-made combat drone that is Ukraine's mainstay against Russia. Now Baykar -- the company that manufactures it -- is participating in the Indo Defense 2022 exhibition in Jakarta.

In his booth at the exhibition held at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, Baykar showcased the miniature Bayraktar TB2. Yes, only a miniature on a scale of one in ten indeed.

Although only a miniature, the combat drone seemed to attract the attention of a number of visitors who passed by to take pictures.

"Yes, this is the drone used in Ukraine," explained the Baykar booth keeper.

He also mentioned that this drone has been used in many countries, to be exact there are 26 countries that operate the drone but he refuses to mention which country, but clearly Indonesia is not one of them.

"That's a secret," he said simply.

This drone is 6.5 meters long and has a wingspan of 12 meters. In addition to attacking the enemy, Bayraktar TB2 can also be used for reconnaissance missions from the air. It can fly for 24 hours at a maximum altitude of 7,300 meters both during the day and at night.

First flight in 2014, the Bayraktar TB2 can carry weapons of up to 150 kilograms and launch attacks against opposing tanks or bunkers. This drone is 6.5 meters long and has a wingspan of 12 meters.

In addition to attacking the enemy, Bayraktar TB2 can also be used for reconnaissance missions from the air. It can fly for 24 to 25 hours at a maximum altitude of 7,300 meters both during the day and at night. The maximum speed is 220 kilometers per hour.

Created by the Baykar company, this combat drone was born as a result of United States sanctions that banned the export of drones to Turkey. It is feared that such aircraft would be used to target the Kurds.

The first generation, Bayraktar TB1, was handed over to the Turkish military in 2011. Only then was the Bayraktar TB2 developed which is reliable to this day. The third generation named TB3 is currently being prepared.
