Headphones are typically heavy making them uncomfortable to wear all day. For audiophiles with extra cash, the Yamaha YH-5000SE is specifically designed to solve this issue. Because it is made of magnesium, these headphones weigh only 320 grams.
It is equipped with Yamaha orthodynamic audio drivers with an open back planar design. According to Yamaha, with this driver more dynamic and better audio can be enjoyed by the owner. Yamaha has been developing these headphones since 2016 and only after testing 1000 audio drivers was it launched this year.
The YH-5000SE supports 3.5mm, 4.4mm and XLR cable connections for higher audio quality. There is no support for it to work wirelessly. The head sponge is offered in leather and suede finishes depending on the comfort of the wearer.
The Yamaha YH-5000SE will go on sale next January at a price of £4799 (~RM 26,000) a pair.
