OnePlus Promises to Update Four Versions of the Operating System and Security for Five Years


 OnePlus, the leading manufacturer of smart devices and accessories has previously promised to update two versions of the operating system and security for around three years after launching their devices.


Recently, in a meeting with the media in London, OnePlus has confirmed that for devices launched in 2023 and above, it will receive updates to four versions of the Android operating system and also security updates for five years.


When asked why this change was made, OnePlus executives said that users of their devices are becoming more discerning about important software updates, and are now generally seen as not wanting to switch devices so often even though it is common for a large number of users to switch their smartphones. annually.



Despite this, a report from Android Authority is seen saying that this long-term update will only be subject to premium devices that will be launched next year, and mid-range devices such as the OnePlus Nord will still receive three versions of the Android operating system and security updates. 4 years as said before.


In the meantime, OnePlus also confirmed that their latest operating system, Oxygen OS 13.1 will be introduced on their devices around the middle of next year.
