Apple Files Patent For Reverse Charging Support On iPhone

Reverse wireless charging is a technology that allows users to charge various watch accessories or earphones on devices that support it. It can be considered as an added convenience and we have seen its offering on Android devices before. This includes products from Samsung and Huawei.

There are recent reports that say Apple is considering providing the same functionality on its smartphones. Apple's Patently site reports that a patent for it has been filed by Apple along with how to use it. It shows a rather complex and technical patent that details how the accessory can be placed on the back of the iPhone. Then, it can be charged wirelessly well without having to adjust the position frequently.

It is also widely believed to be used across a wide range of Apple devices – including smartphones, smartwatches, earphones and more wirelessly. For now, it is not yet certain when this technology will be officially commercialized by Apple. However, there is a high probability that it can be seen on the upcoming phone iPhone 15.
