This man has been waiting for the new iPhone he bought on Amazon. However, unfortunately, the package sent to his house was not Apple's cell phone but dog food.
As quoted by us from the BBC, initially Ian Burton last December wanted to buy a new iPhone for his son. He also bought on Amazon for £ 1,300, possibly the iPhone 14 Pro or 14 Pro Ultra if you look at the price.
Of course, Ian, who lives in Salisbury, England, was furious and immediately filed a complaint with Amazon. However, Amazon did not want to give a replacement or refund because Ian was considered to have received the package in the proper process.
Amazon said that because he had received the package and signed it, he was deemed to have received the iPhone without experiencing any problems. Ian did not give up and reported this case to the police.
He considered that there was certainly a problem in Amazon's system considering that an object like an iPhone is so expensive that it can be exchanged for dog food. Moments later, Amazon only acted after the media caught wind of this case. They finally apologized and reimbursed Ian.
Ian was contacted by an Amazon representative who apologized for the situation. They promised to carry out a comprehensive review to identify the root of the problem. The iPhone purchase money was returned to Ian's account the next day.
"We have contacted Mr Ian directly, apologized and are already processing a full refund," Amazon said.
