Confusing Optical Illusions, Is This Person Indoors Or Outdoors?

Erik Johansson is a Swedish photographer based in Berlin. He is quite well known in cyberspace because he often displays his works in the form of cool surreal photo manipulations in the style of optical illusions.

As we quoted from Pixel Map, the images he made show everyday situations, but are guaranteed to make the viewer very confused because there are oddities.

Call it the picture by Johansson above. With the title The Architect, there is someone who is called looking for inspiration at a table. The problem was, it wasn't clear whether the person was inside or outside the house.

In an interview, he admits that he enjoys making such works. "My work can be described as a real world created by combining different photographs," he says,

"I do personal projects and custom projects with clients all over the world. Unlike traditional photography, I don't capture moments, I capture ideas with the help of a camera and imagination," Johansson continues.

"The goal was to make it look as realistic as possible even though the scene itself contains elements of the impossible. In the end it all boils down to solving the problem, finding a way to capture the impossible," he added.

Johansson calls his work a category of surreal photography. "It took a long time to plan. At first it was just a sketch, a simple idea, then after that all the parts would blend well," he concluded.
