MacKenzie Scott, who is the ex-wife of Amazon boss Jeff Bezos, is going through a divorce with her second husband. They officially divorced legally after a Washington judge signed the trial documents on January 4, 2023.
MacKenzie and Dan Jewett married in March 2021. However, in September, MacKenzie filed a lawsuit against the chemistry teacher. The two have no children together.
Jewett has no problem with the divorce, and they both signed a prenuptial agreement, as quoted by the NY Post.
MacKenzie Scott is a novelist and the third richest woman in the US. Previously she was married to Bezos for nearly 25 years and had four children with him. She and Bezos divorced amid the issue of Bezos' affair with a former presenter, Lauren Sanchez.
In the divorce agreement with Bezos that was finalized in 2019, MacKenzie got a 25% share of Amazon's co-ownership with Bezos. The percentage is 4% of all Amazon shares. MacKenzie even once became the richest woman in the world.
Despite this, MacKenzie Scott vowed to give away more than half of her fortune to charity and has since donated at least $14 billion to 16,000 nonprofits, according to her website YieldGiving.com. In the last month, his fortune was estimated at USD 27 billion, according to Forbes. Bezos' net worth meanwhile is worth $110 billion.
