Samsung has unveiled the world's first Dw-4K monitor late last night in conjunction with CES. For those who don't need this extreme monitor, Samsung also launched the Samsung Odyssey OLED G9, Samsung Viewfinity S9 and the new Samsung Smart Monitor M8.
The Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 is equipped with a 49-inch QHD screen with a 32:9 ratio and 1800R curvature. The panel is from the quantum dot OLED family with a refresh rate of up to 240Hz. Although it is a gaming monitor, it also doubles as a smart monitor with the Tizen OS operating system.
Therefore Netflix, YouTube and Prime Video applications can be downloaded and used without the OLED G9 being connected to a PC. It also comes with a Samsung Gaming Hub that allows direct access to Xbox and NVIDIA GeForce Now video streaming services.
The Samsung ViewFinity S9 is equipped with a 27-inch screen with 5K resolution with 99% DCI-P3 warrant support and Delta E ≦21. Monitor in targets professionals who are looking for a smart monitor for work purposes. There is also a Color Calibration Engine that ensures the color display on the screen is always accurate.
The screen is of a non-glare matte type. Connections are possible using USB-C and Thunderbolt 4. There is also a 4K SlimFit webcam on the top for teleconferencing sessions. Like the Odyssey OLED G9 it uses the Tizen OS operating system.
Last but not least is the new Samsung Smart Monitor M8 with 27-inch and 32-inch 4K screens. This year's monitor comes with a neck that can be rotated 90 degrees for vertical viewing and is height adjustable.
Like the previous M8 model, the new model comes with the Tizen OS operating system which allows various popular applications to be downloaded as well as support for SmartThings and Matter internet of things systems. Finally, it is also equipped with a built-in SlimFit web camera. All monitors have not yet been announced price or sale date so far.
