When it comes to memory for mobile devices, the most premium offering seen so far comes through the LPDDR5X memory chip that offers a data transfer speed of 8.5Gb/s.
Recently, SK Hynix has developed the latest memory chip for mobile devices, which is LPDDR5T, to which the letter T gives the name Turbo which shows a faster speed at a rate of around 9.6Gb/s.
It also consumes only around 1.01-1.12V electrical voltage, which is one of the lowest on the market. This compares to LPDDR5X which has a total voltage consumption as high as 1.8V.
SK Hynix said that they have started to produce this LPDDR5T memory chip package in the size of 16GB and send it to certain customers for testing, which is said to be able to process 77GB of data in just one second.
They further said that the use of LPDDR5T is not only focused on smart devices, but various other applications such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality devices, 5G accessories, IoT and so on will soon follow.
