Apple Certified Refurbished are Apple devices such as MacBook, iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad and many more that have been broken, returned by customers or used sets from the Apple trade-in program that have been refurbished with original replacement parts, checked and cleared by Apple itself.
Products in this category come with a complete set such as a cable or charger as well as a one-year Apple warranty and selected products also have AppleCare support. The selling price is also cheaper, but it's a pity that these refurbished Apple products are still not offered in Malaysia and the closest one is in Singapore.
Recently, through the Apple Store application on iPad and iPhone, in monitoring I want to see the price of the Mac Mini M2 – there is a Certified Refurbished category for Mac products listed for users in Malaysia. But when pressed, this category still does not list any products yet. There is no Certified Refurbished category for Apple Watch, iPad or iPhone in sight – just like in Singapore which is limited to MacBook only.
Does this mean that Malaysian users will be able to have MacBook refurbished by Apple or is it just an error in the application? In Singapore, the MacBook Pro 16” M1 Pro 16/512 GB is sold at a price of S$2,879 which is around RM9,349, which when launched two years ago was sold at a price of S$3,784 (~RM12,288). This means, the experience of using it is like a new product at more than RM3000 discount.
