Viral on social media a UFO or unidentified object in the sky of California. The shape resembles a cloud like in the sci-fi film 'Nope'.
Many people can not guess what phenomenon is happening in the sky near Palm Springs. They also vote and share it on social media.
However, for the first time, Brian Lynch, a screenwriter, leaked it to social media.
"The cloud was HUGE. It was above us. My son thought it was so cool," Brian Lynch told SFGATE.
Lynch saw the object with his family around 1:00 p.m. one Tuesday. He also shared it on Twitter while linking the actor in the film Nope, Jordan Peele.
So what exactly is this strange object that looks like a disk from a spaceship? Dr James Danoff-Burg, director of conservation at Living Desert Zoo and Gardens in Palm Desert, helps explain.
Don't worry, that formation isn't an alien spacecraft with the intention of capturing a bunch of humans for research purposes. In fact, it's a common type of cloud that often appears over zoo reserves. The phenomenon is a lenticular cloud, which has been described as looking like a 'stacked pancake'.
"That day was amazing because we had one stacked three levels high, this is rare!" exclaimed Danoff-Burg, as reported by the NY Post.
So, the strange-shaped object is not an alien ship in camouflage. It's really just a cloud that has a unique shape and doesn't appear that often. By the way, has anyone seen a similar cloud?
