Wow, Xbox can be used to play GameCube and Wii games

Xbox Series S and X turned out to be used to play old school games from Nintendo Gamecube and Wii. Why, how come?

This is possible because the Xbox duo can run applications in the Universal Windows Platform (UWP) format. And recently, a developer named Sirmangler, changed the dolphin emulator into an application with that format.

As a result the dolphin emulator can also be run on the Xbox, and function well when used to play the old school Nintendo games on the Gamecube and Wii platforms. For information, Dolphin Emulator is a popular Emulator software on Windows which is usually used to play old school games on a PC.

In the video posted on Youtube by Modern Vintage Gamer, seen two Microsoft modern consoles running gamecube games with resolutions that are upscale to 1440P, for example Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem game with HD texture pack, which can be run smoothly through a flash disk through a flash disk .

Actually the UWP application can also be run on Xbox One and Xbox One X, but it seems that the two consoles do not have enough ability to develop old school games, which do require extra ability to be displayed smoothly.

Interestingly, old school games that can be played not only from Gamecube and Wii. Old school games from PS2, which can not even be played on PS5, can be played on Xbox using retroarch software.

Similar methods can also be used to play the old school game using a handheld console such as Steamdeck, which turns out to have sufficient ability for the Emulator software, as quoted by us from The Verge, Tuesday (1/23/2023).

Of course to play this old school game, either in Steamdeck or Xbox, you need an ISO or ROM file from the game being played.
