Android 14 Can Clone Apps, Remove Fat Apps And Access Stricter Permissions

Today, Mishaal Rahman has shared some interesting features and functions that will arrive in Android 14. Many are similar to features from iOS as well as features that have long been introduced on Android devices by Chinese manufacturers.

First of all, Android 14 will finally allow users to remove fat applications installed by manufacturers or telecommunications companies. There is a special column that lists these applications and which applications are not required for the device to operate normally can be removed.

Second is the ability to clone applications. A feature that has long been present on Oppo, Xiaomi and many other Chinese-made devices. Social media apps can be cloned allowing users to use the same social media app with two different accounts.

The third is an iOS-like feature regarding permission access to internal storage, more specifically image files. In iOS, when the application asks for permission to access photos, the user is given the option to either allow one photo only or access the entire storage for more photo options. The same feature is now being tested on Android 14. Indirectly this feature will protect the privacy of the user's device from being hacked or the occurrence of any security vulnerability.

Speaking of privacy and security, the fourth feature that Google is testing on Android 14 is Advanced memory protection. This feature is to protect the device's memory from any bugs or other security vulnerabilities. This feature can avoid system problems.

Another feature that follows the Chinese-made device is the scrolling navigation gesture control from the side to return to the previous page or previous application. With a new feature called Predictive Back Navigation, before the user returns to the previous application/site, Android 14 will allow the user to see what application or page will return to avoid any accidental return actions.
