Instagram released a new feature that mimics one of Telegram's popular features. The new feature is Broadcast Channel, which allows creators to make announcements to all of their followers.
The way Broadcast Channels work is similar to Channels on Telegram. Creators can broadcast messages and updates to more users who follow the channel.
Creators can share updates in the form of text, photos, polls, reactions, and more. Followers can react in the form of emojis and vote in polls, but can't post anything on the channel.
In the coming months, Instagram plans to add more features to the Broadcast Channel, including an 'ask me anything' style question and answer option or inviting other creators to join the channel to discuss future collaborations.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is one of the people who has a channel on Instagram. Through a channel called 'Meta Channel 📢', Zuckerberg said he would share news and updates about all the products developed by Meta.

Currently Broadcast Channel is still in the pilot phase involving dozens of creators in the United States. This feature will be released in more countries in the next few months. Although currently only available on Instagram, Broadcast Channel will also be present on Facebook and Messenger.
A select few creators already have channels, including snowboarder Chloe Kim and streamer Valkyrae. Creators who want to try this feature can register via the available waitlist, as quoted from The Verge, Friday (17/2/2023).
Creators who have gained access to the Broadcast Channel can start their channel via Instagram inbox. After sending their first message, their followers will get a notification to join the channel.
After the channel is active, creators can invite their followers to join the channel using the 'join channel' sticker in Stories. Creators will also be able to pin their channel link on their profile to make it easier for other users to join.
