Vivo has finally brought its sub-brand, iQOO, to market. Not wanting to be half-hearted, the coolest and newest mobile phone was made the first champion to be presented to the country.
iQOO 11 5G, hence the name. This phone puts forward high specifications with a premium look.
Does this combination make it worthy of being glanced at and made your new daily driver? Here's a brief review of the iQOO 11 5G for consideration.
Design
iQOO 11 5G comes in two color variants. The first is the White Legend, which features a white color decorated with a distinctive BMW M Motorsport strip.
The two Alpha Blacks that we reviewed. The rear surface has a matte finish combined with the protruding camera module, making it look no less premium than the white version.
Even though it's free of fingerprint smudges, the iQOO 11 5G is a little slippery. That's why we use the protective case provided in the sales package.
The front is like most other cellphones. The screen adopts a punch hole in the top center of the screen combined with a thin bezel on the edges. iQOO provides Gorilla Glass Victus glass protection.
Overall iQOO 11 presents a premium look, according to the price.
Screen
The screen is one of the superior aspects of the iQOO 11. It uses a 6.78 inch 10bit AMOLED E6 panel with 2K resolution which has been specially designed for gamers.
The display has a peak brightness of up to 1100 nits, making it easy to read even in direct sunlight. Apart from its brightness, the screen also has a refresh rate of up to 144Hz and a touch sampling rate of 300Hz, which helps make app navigation smooth and enhances the gaming experience.
When watching movies and series on video streaming services, the eyes are impressed by the bright and sharp colors that are presented. More satisfying with the presence of stereo speakers.
While not the loudest on the market, they do not distort at maximum volume.
Camera
iQOO has not ruled out the photography capabilities of its newest smartphone. iQOO 11 5G has three cameras on the back.
The 50 MP main camera uses the Samsung ISOCELL GN5 sensor. Also supported is a 13MP telephoto lens capable of 2X optical zoom along with an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. On the front, there is a 16 MP camera.
In daylight situations, photos taken with the main camera are sharp, color reproduction is accurate, and dynamic range is laudable. In low light conditions, the main camera still does an excellent job capturing detailed images.
performance
iQOO 11 is the first smartphone in Indonesia to be supported by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. This phone is also equipped with 16GB LPDDR5X RAM which can be expanded with an additional 8GB virtual memory, enabling smooth multitasking and efficient handling of background applications.
In our experience, the iQOO 11 didn't lag once while in use. Its high refresh rate also makes switching between apps smooth and fast.
When benchmarked, the iQOO 11 achieved a score of 1223820 on Antutu. The company confirms that the new chipset makes the phone 20 percent faster than the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.
During the Geekbench 5 test, the iQOO 11 scored 1471 points on the single-core test and 4722 points on the multi-core test.
For gaming needs, iQOO 11 is equipped with a V2 chip to increase frame rates and reduce power consumption. Sure enough when testing mobile gaming capabilities by playing Asphalt 9, the battery drop was almost 2 percent after 25 minutes of playing time.
The phone also offers a variety of gaming customization options, including the ability to put calls on hold during intense gaming sessions.
Operating system
We had hoped that iQOO 11 would be present in Indonesia running OriginOS so that it would make a difference from Vivo. In fact, the operating system used by FunTouch OS 13 is based on Android 13.
While the software feels really optimized with no lag, it's a shame a lot of bloatware. Some of them can be removed easily, but some cannot be deleted or disabled when not in use.
Battery
The IQOO 11 has a 5,000 mAh battery. With such a large capacity, this phone can last more than a day for standard use. When it runs out, it can be filled quickly thanks to support for 120W fast charging.
It only takes 8 minutes to recharge 50 percent. A 120W charging adapter is included in the iQOO 11 sales package.
Our Opinion
If you want to find a capable device to play games but still look premium and comfortable in the hand, this iQOO 11 5G can be the choice. The kitchen is capable of running heavy gaming applications smoothly.
The gaming experience on this phone can also be improved thanks to the In-Display Dual Monster Touch feature which allows gamers to map their own button functions when playing games. There are Dual X-Axis Linear Motors that provide more real vibrations, as well as Dual Stereo Speakers that deliver loud sound.
The screen display is pleasing to the eye, the camera shots are also satisfying. Even though the large battery can support all day, iQOO is equipped with 120W fast charging technology so it only takes a short time to fully charge.
The only drawback is lots of useless bloatware. Apart from that, this phone feels a little warm when playing games, but this can be overcome by installing a case so that it stays comfortable in the hand.
