One of the most popular game exhibitions in the world, namely E3, lost three of its big players in 2023. It is reported that Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo will be absent.
All three have their own reasons, which may be the reason for their absence at E3. Like Xbox announcing it's coming back to Los Angeles for its own summer Showcase event.
Meanwhile, Nintendo reportedly does not have enough new things to disclose. Now it's different from Sony Interactive Entertainment, where their absence is not too surprising anymore.
This is considering that Sony had missed the E3 event since 2019. Then said it would not attend in 2020, before the game exhibition was finally canceled due to the pandemic, as quoted by us from VGC, Thursday (2/2/2023).
So it seems that this offline event, which has been eagerly awaited by game industry activists, will feel a bit empty. If you look at the absence of the three big game companies, then E3 2023 might not be as busy as usual.
Losing all three was a crushing blow to E3. However, from one of VGC's trusted sources, there are still several well-known game companies that will be attending the event which will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
It was learned from the new E3 organizer, ReedPop, that they have received a great deal of interest from some of the biggest names in the industry. But in the meantime, ReedPop doesn't want to provide details of the participants who appear.
"We've received enormous interest from many of the biggest companies in the industry, and as we get ready to announce exhibitors, we're confident this will be the line-up that will make a trip to Los Angeles invaluable to both industry and consumers," said a ReedPop spokesperson. .
As already reported, E3 2023 will be held in the middle of this year, June 13-16 to be precise. The format will be like this, the first two days are reserved specifically for businesses.
Then on the third day welcome business visitors and consumers. Now the last day is dedicated specifically for consumers to enliven it.
