Xiaomi is now imposing a penalty of up to 1 million Yuan (~RM630,000) after a supplier for them failed to control and leak early vehicle designs for Xiaomi.
Through the recently leaked design, it shows the design of the front and back of the Xiaomi car under development.
The leaked mockup also includes the name MS11 written on it.
Xiaomi is currently in the process of developing their electric vehicle, including testing various automotive-related technologies. They aim to market the vehicle in a few years.
By implementing this penalty and asking for compensation, it shows that Xiaomi is serious about dealing with leaks for their upcoming products.
Xiaomi is also reported to have asked their suppliers to increase the level of information security to avoid any leaks.
