The Ministry of Higher Education is Researching the Guidelines for the Use of ChatGPT

Today Microsoft announced CoPilot artificial intelligence support on Windows Office software that opens a Pandora's box of essays written using artificial intelligence. For normal users this may not be a big issue but it may be an ethical issue when used by students to produce papers.

The Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) is already proactive about this issue and is examining guidelines for the use of artificial intelligence such as ChatGPT in the national education system. KPT currently sees artificial intelligence as a solution tool that can help the learning process in Malaysia. But also aware of the risk of it being used entirely by students to produce papers without real input being done by them.

Various software have been produced to detect essays produced by artificial intelligence. But the capabilities of artificial intelligence are getting stronger and the detection process will become more and more difficult.
