Space-X Will Launch Satellite On June 27 That Offers Internet Services

The United States has Space-X which offers StarLink services. In Malaysia we have Angkasa-X with this local company announcing that they will launch their first satellite on June 27 from the Vostochny Cosmodrome in Russia. Their first satellite A-SEANSAT-PG1 is of the nano satellite type that will be part of the 500 satellites planned to be launched by Angkasa-X with four to be launched in the next four years.

In addition to offering Internet services using satellites, Angkasa-X will also offer ship tracking services to improve maritime security in the Southeast Asian region. Imaging and monitoring services through internet-of-things technology will also be offered.

Angkasa-X would like to offer satellite-as-a-service (SaaS) services to customers in the Southeast Asian region with all their satellites operating from low earth orbit (LEO).

Their first step is expected to attract investment interest in the Malaysian aerospace sector, especially in Penang. Last year Angkasa-X announced the construction of a space technology center at Universiti Sains Malaysia Nibong Tebal worth RM30 million.
