This is Telegram's Further Comment from the Minister Saying Telegram Failed to Cooperate

At the end of last week, the Minister of Communications and Digital has stated that Telegram has failed to cooperate in controlling pornographic content and so on, while saying that he will take further action. Further to that, Telegram has now released their official comments to us.

According to Telegram, they are active in removing harmful content on their platform, including the sale of prohibited material and even public porn. Telegram also stated that moderators are also proactive in monitoring the public section of the application, in addition to receiving user reports through the application or using the email abuse@telegram.org in an effort to remove content that violates the terms and conditions of service. Telegram added, however, that they will not engage in any political censorship.

Previously, the Ministry of Communications and Digital has received various complaints involving Telegram, especially the misuse of the application involving pornographic content, fraud and scams, as well as the sale of prohibited goods. The Ministry has tried to contact Telegram, but has not received any response regarding it.

Continuing from that, Fahmi Fadzil said that Telegram is not sincere in cooperating with the government in curbing obscene and dangerous content. It was also emphasized that, compared to TikTok and other platforms, Telegram is the most worrying for now.
