After leaving Apple, Jony Ive opened his own design company called LoveFrom, and has helped with the branding of several companies such as Apple, Airbnb and Ferrari, among others.
Most recently, LoveFrom reportedly helped design its first physical product since leaving Apple with premium audio brand Linn. Jony Ive assisted in the development of the Linn Sondek LP12-50 turntable which was developed for the company's 50th anniversary.
What's interesting about this product is that since Jony Ive is a fan of this audio brand, he has provided his design services to Linn Audio and helped them create this turntable at no charge.
The differences shown on the new LP12 include a wooden frame design with sides and corners that are not so sharp, a power button that uses aluminum metal instead of plastic and also a hinge for the rotor cover that allows this cover to be left open at various angles.
For this Linn Sondek LP12-50, they have developed 250 units of this product, with each one worth $60,000 or around RM280,000.
