Telekom Malaysia has just announced today that Amar Huzami Md Deris will take over the position of Chief Executive Officer from Datuk Imri Mokhtar from 1 August 2023.
Amar Huzaimi is another veteran at Telekom Malaysia, where he joined the company in 1998 after completing his university studies. He previously gained experience in financial control, internal audit, corporate affairs and regulatory affairs.
Regarding this new role, Amar said, "Datuk Imri has set the right direction for TM, with a solid foundation of revenue recovery and exploration of new growth areas - planning the evolution from a Telco into a TechCo. I am proud to have been involved in the journey; and now I am determined to continue it and lead TM to a higher level.
Datuk Imri, who has held the position of Chief Executive Officer of Telekom Malaysia since 2020, will end his duties on July 31, and said that the company will progress further under the leadership of Amar Huzaimi.
"Amar is an excellent internal leader of TM, with his proven ability in managing the business, resulting in continuous impact and success. I am confident that TM will achieve greater excellence under his leadership. I wish Amar, the management team and all TM Citizens the best of luck as they embark on the next phase of the company's growth and evolution.”
