Assistant with Bard is Google Assistant's virtual assistant with Google Bard's generative AI integration. It will only be offered to Pixel 8 and Samsung Galaxy S24 users first. Recently, independent developer @AssemblyDebug at X has found development code in Google apps that suggests there will be two modes for this virtual assistant in the future.
The first mode is Classic Assistant and the second mode is Assistant with Bard. This mod was introduced because not all existing Assistant features will be offered on the Bard version. This means that users have to switch between modes when they want to use it.
I think this is a strange thing because during the announcement of Assistant with Bard, Google guaranteed that it is a more powerful virtual assistant. But with the user having to switch between the two modes for daily use it makes the user himself an assistant to Google Assistant instead of the other way around.
