Sam Altman Will Not Return To OpenAI – Temporarily Replaced By Emmet Shear

Not long after Sam Altman, the founder and CEO of OpenAI was suddenly fired, the company's executives tried to turn around to get him to take back the position, after being pressured by the company's investors.

Any discussion of this seems to have fallen through, with OpenAI's board of directors confirming that Emmet Shear, co-founder of the streaming website Twitch will take over the position for a while. This was confirmed by one of the founders and board director of OpenAI, Ilya Sutskever.

The dismissal of Sam Altman as CEO of OpenAI is reported to have occurred because he was not very transparent in communication between himself and the company's board of directors. It happened suddenly, and because of this, some management and even OpenAI researchers like Greg Brockman have also left the company.

Sam Altman has previously expressed his desire to develop another artificial intelligence company, and it will be interesting to see if more OpenAI researchers will leave the company to follow suit.
