Delivery Hero has previously confirmed they are considering selling FoodPanda's food delivery service operations in the region, including for the Malaysian market. Since then, several names have surfaced stating that they might take over the operations of FoodPanda.
Among those named is Meituan - a food service giant in China. However, now through the official statement shared by Meituan, they stated that they are not interested in taking over FoodPanda operations.
The FoodPanda market is said to be very small, only around 6% of the Chinese market. This might make Meituan not interested in him.
With this matter, the name Grab is now left, which is said to possibly take over FoodPanda, as well as strengthen their position in the local market.
