Hotelling is one of the important individuals at Apple because he is one of the creators of Touch ID, involved in the development of Face ID, and multi-touch screen technology. According to Bloomberg, Hotelling will soon retire from Apple.
His name is also listed in hundreds of design patent documents registered by Apple. He was also involved in the development of Vision Pro, which is one of the most advanced mixed reality headsets on the market. Although he is an important figure in the history of Apple's development, no official photos of him can be found online. Apple representatives declined to comment on whether reports of Hotelling's imminent retirement are true or not at this time.
