Lei Jun, the CEO of Xiaomi today shared some preliminary information regarding the first electric car to be marketed by Xiaomi. This first car will be known as the Xiaomi SU7.
SU in the name stands for Speed Ultra. Xiaomi says the SU7 will be among the cars with the best driving performance on the market in the sedan category. Xiaomi said it will share more about why it chose the sedan vehicle category for this first stage at a special event scheduled for tomorrow, December 28, 2023.
Commenting further, the Xiaomi SU7 is said to bring the best driving performance in its class, comparable to the Porsche Taycan Turbo. A number of smart features are also integrated, including those in the Tesla Model S car.
Lei Jun stated that the Xiaomi SU7 will be on the market in a few months. It will be marketed in China first. The selling price for it has not been finalized yet, but it is expected to surprise many.
