A few months ago we reported that Sir Jony Ive and Sam Altman were collaborating on artificial intelligence (AI) hardware with the help of Masayoshi Son. This week Tang Tan who is the former head of design at Apple joined Ive's LoveFrom firm.
Ive and Tan's expertise in producing various iconic products at Apple will be used to produce the first AI device that uses OpenAI software. What this device will be is still a mystery but it could be like the Humane AI Pin that was launched last month.
Hardware with AI available will be the hot trend of 2024. We can already see it done by Google after Gemini Nano given to Pixel 8 Pro. All major device manufacturers have the same plan but the implementation alone is still a question mark.
