Google Gemini Application Now Available For 150 Countries, Malaysia Still Excluded

Today Google announced that their Chrome web browser is starting to receive Gemini AI chatbot integration. Interestingly, in contrast to Microsoft Edge's strategy of making Copilot another window – Gemini on Chrome is built directly into the omnibox (address bar). Previously it was only tested on the Canary version, now by just entering @Gemini you can directly chat with Gemini.

Not only that, Gemini plugins such as Google Flights, Hotels, Maps, Workspace and YouTube can also be used with Gemini by simply entering @ then one of the keywords below;

Google Flights: @flights

Google Hotels: @hotels

Google Maps: @maps

Google Workspace: @gmail, @drive, and @docs

YouTube: @YouTube

Google also finally expanded the Gemini application offering to more than 150 countries. Too bad Malaysia is still an exception. Language support is now up to 9 languages including Chinese, French, German and several others. Google also said Gemini app support is limited to Android devices with non-foldable screens, at least 4GB of RAM and running Android 10 or higher.

However, if you subscribe to Google One AI Premium with 2TB of Google Drive storage you can access Gemini more easily and quickly. It should also be noted, if you install this application either through the Play Store or sideload – it will replace the Google Assistant application. Chrome's address bar support with machine learning is also still in testing, if launched and paired with Gemini – Chrome could potentially become my favorite web browser again. what do you say
