Google Play Store Starts Showing Special Badges For Government Apps



Google Play Store is a great storehouse of apps. It has many security features, it is easy to manage subscriptions, it is not confusing and there are many features that help users find apps more safely. Educational applications and applications that handle security in the Play Store have special badges such as Teacher approved and Independent Security Review. The Play Store recently started displaying the Official government badge for government applications.



In the Play Store each application list will have a small icon labeling which one is a government application. When this label is pressed, a small window will appear stating why this label is displayed. For now it is only offered in Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, the UK and the United States.



Applications such as NASA, FEMA, and others including for bill payment, parking, summons and more are among the applications that have this label. Google encourages government app developers to use official government emails and follow the guidelines provided to receive this label.
