Poco today launched two devices under the Poco F6 series at the Dubai Exhibition Center. The first device is the Poco F6 and the second is the Poco F6 Pro. Both of these devices are affordable flagship smartphones that have been awaited after last year's Poco F5 I say it's almost perfect, while our editor Mr. Effi stated that the Poco F5 Pro is an affordable device with a flagship performance.
Poco F6
This is Poco's sixth generation affordable flagship device. This time, the Poco F6 will be the second global device with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip after the Moto Edge 50 Ultra. This chip is similar to the 8 Gen 3 but differs in core configuration, camera and modem capabilities. On F6 it is matched with memory options up to 12GB LPDDR5X as well as storage up to 512 GB UFS 4.0.
The screen of the device is a 6.67-inch Flow AMOLED DotDisplay with CrystalRes technology. It also supports a 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision and HDR10+ display and can reach a brightness of up to 2400 nits. For the camera, Poco F6 follows in the footsteps of Nothing by using only two sensors without any gimmick sensors which are 50MP wide angle + 8MP ultra wide angle and 20MP selfie camera. If you have heard the specifications of this device, it is similar to the previously leaked Redmi Note 13 Turbo that will be launched in China.
Xiaomi HyperOS based on Android 14 is the operating system of this device. Generative artificial intelligence features such as Xiaomi 14 are also provided, namely AI Eraser Pro and AI Expansion, AI Portrait and AI Subtitle but some features require beta access. The audio system is Dolby Atmos stereo, the USB-C port supports Hi-Res audio, the device is also equipped with an under-screen fingerprint scanner, an infrared sensor, WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC and a 5000mAh battery with Xiaomi HyperCharge 90W fast charging support.
Poco F6 Pro
This device is their flagship model this year. The Poco F6 Pro is actually a rebranded Redmi K70 like the Poco X6 is the Redmi K70E. The screen technology is more or less the same as Poco F6's Flow AMOLED 6.67-inch Dolby Vision 120Hz, but on F6 Pro it uses WQHD+ resolution (3200 x 1440) and has a brightness of 4000 nits. Both Poco F6 series are also protected with Gorilla Glass Victus.
The chip of this device is Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 which is last year's flagship device chip. For this device it is matched with memory options up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM as well as internal storage up to 1TB UFS 4.0. The camera configuration is 50MP, OIS wide angle + 8MP ultra wide angle 2MP macro and 16MP selfie camera.
Poco F6 Pro runs Android 14 based Xiaomi HyperOS operating system. All other features and specifications of this device are more or less same as Poco F6. Only the 5000mAh battery on this device supports faster charging, which is Xiaomi HyperCharge 120W. Two generative AI features namely AI Expansion and AI Eraser Pro can also be used.
The design of both devices uses a flat screen, designed to look like a premium device and there are no gimmicks on the back panel of the device. Poco F6 with Titanium color offering like Samsung and Apple, while Poco F6 Pro with patterned back panel.
For the Poco F6, it is sold in Malaysia at a price of RM1799 for the 8/256 GB model and RM1999 for the 12/512 GB model. In conjunction with the launch, these two devices can be purchased at a price of RM1559 and RM1699. Two color options other than Titanium are black or green. This model is only sold on Poco's official Shopee and mi.com.
There are three options for the Pro model, namely RM2299 for 12/256 GB (Lazada), RM2499 for 12/512 GB (Exclusive on Shopee) and RM2899 for 16GB + 1TB (Shopee). In conjunction with the launch, these three options are offered at a price of RM2059, RM2159 and RM2599. Color options are limited to only two, black or white.
