Siri is the first virtual assistant that provides smartphone control features using voice. When it was launched 12 years ago, it was an innovative product that caused Google Assistant and Samsung Bixby to be developed as competitors. But now it must be admitted that Siri's ability is behind Assistant, Bixby and Alexa so many owners of Apple devices rarely use it.
This will change through Siri which will be powered by AI capabilities according to a Bloomberg report. Siri on iOS 18 will be more intelligent in controlling the applications installed on the device. For example it can be instructed to move the position of files, delete emails and perform conclusions for certain documents.
At the beginning, Siri can only do one task. Then through the update it can take several instructions simultaneously for example doing a summary of a long document and then send this summary in the form of an email to a friend for example.
More features will be introduced during the WWDC event on June 11. If all the information leaked so far is true, 2024 will be the year AI is finally used by the majority of modern mobile phones.
