Apart from the sharing of leisure content, Instagram is also used as another social media battleground, and especially now, when countries like the United States are approaching election season, and also the ongoing war in Palestine.
Earlier this year, Meta took the decision to ensure that such content does not go viral on their platform by introducing a filter to reduce the visibility of political content.
Users have the choice of whether they want to see that content more often or less often, but now there seems to be an issue that is causing this content filter to not work as it should.
There are many reports now that even if the user chooses to see more political content, every time the Instagram application is closed and reopened, the settings made will be changed back to the default setting, which is to see only a little political content.
This issue was found on Instagram as well as Threads, another social media platform under Threads, but it was also reported that this issue has been fixed a few hours after several reports about it were made.
