The Tidal music streaming app will no longer be supported on Samsung smart TVs starting July 8. Users started receiving emails from Tidal announcing the end of app support for Tizen OS this week.
The move to end support for Samsung TVs comes after they also ended support for Fire TV and even Roku. The app has been offered on Samsung TVs since 2018. For Tidal users, they will now have to switch to Apple TV and Android TV only after this. If they own a Galaxy device, support for playing music on the TV is only possible with the Smart View feature after this.
In addition to no longer supporting Samsung TVs, Tidak also made major changes, no longer offering audio in MQA and 360 Reality AudioA formats, replacing it with Flac and Dolby Atmos formats.
